It doesn't have any particular dependency but there are only a .net standard 1.0 and .net 4.5 builds.
I believe your project being .net 5 it resolves to the .net standard 1.0 build of the lib, and has to pull a huge number of .net core libraries to get it to run.
I think your issue could be rephrased as "please add a .net 5.0 target to the library build", which would probably not be very complicated.
Edit: there's a commit from 13/12/2020 that contains a fix for the issue actually, as far as I can tell.
