Don't know if it's related in some way, but launching the Sample_Tutorial_Terrain in Debug mode with D3D11 render system I get the following error:

17:02:08: OGRE EXCEPTION(3:RenderingAPIException): D3D11 device cannot set rasterizer state
Error Description: ID3D11DeviceContext::DrawInstanced: The Pixel Shader unit expects a Sampler configured for comparison filtering to be set at Slot 3, but the sampler bound at this slot is configured for default filtering.  This mismatch will produce undefined behavior if the sampler is used (e.g. it is not skipped due to shader code branching).

There are also some major visual artifacts in OGRE 2.2 which weren't present in OGRE 2.1.
