Tasks become doubled in reading mode about obsidian-tasks HOT 4 CLOSED

Ah right, there have been lots of reports on the Obsidian Discord of an Iconize release breaking the Tasks plugin and other plugins - when nothing had changed in Tasks.

I see you've reported the issue in that repo - thank you.

I'll close this as no action, as it is definitely nothing to do with the Tasks plugin.

FYI - and for any future issues you might log in this repo or others, it really helps if sample text, including sample tasks, is formatted as fenced code blocks so that the text is easy visible, and easily be copied.

For example, see how this has a Copy button in the corner:

Transparency note: I will edit #2766 (comment) above to format the task text and make it easy to point the Iconize author to it, in case they want a reproduction for the interactions with Tasks..

This sounds very much like it might be caused by another plugin, and I see you haven't checked the box saying you've tested it with all other plugins disabled, so....

1. Please create a new vault with only the Tasks plugin installed, and see if you can reproduce the problem.

2. If you can reproduce the problem, please follow the request below.

Open Obsidian, Tasks plugin enabled, no global filter, no global query, default statuses for minimal theme, Set created date on every added task: true, Set done date on every completed task: true, Set cancelled date on every cancelled task: true, Use filename as Scheduled date for undated tasks: false.

First of all thanks for the fast reply. Your work is really appreciated.

I have been working on understanding the source and fixing it in the last hour.

I had no problems in a sandbox vault with just the Tasks plugin enabled. I had no problems in a sandbox vault with just Iconize enabled. I also had no problems in my normal vault if I kept enabled every plugin but Tasks, or every plugin but Iconize (v2.11.9). I switched back to Iconize 2.10.1 since latest versions seem more buggy and the problem disappeared, so it is probably Iconize that is clashing with Tasks and bugging.

For the steps:

1. In an Obsidian (1.5.12) vault with both Iconize 2.11.9 and Tasks 6.2.0 (using the default Tasks Emoji Format) enabled create a new note.
2. Create some tasks in the note like so:

- [ ] Task 1 ⏫
- [ ] Task 2 🔽
    - [ ] Task 2.1
    - [ ] Task 2.2
- [ ] Task 3 🔺

3. Switch from editing mode to reading mode

I don't know if a task group without emojis clashes with Iconize because I didn't think about testing it. I also didn't test for the Dataview Task Format option in Tasks plugin.
