working on a unit test script so that we can easily move code from dev to main
in the mean time there is a lot of development happening, so we should just keep the pypi package as "official release" and main as "bleeding edge"
this weekend I'm gonna see if I can make a new pypi package version, as there's a lot of good stuff in here now that isn't in the latest release yet.

Gonna make version branches that correspond with the pypi packages and lock those, so that master is free for active development.
