Ran into a related issue. I use {swr: true} on a route. I want to store an array in a cookie. I set the default to an empty array like: {default: () => []}. This combination causes the cookie to be wiped each time i refresh the page.
My workaround is the commented code in the composable - set no default and just handle that undefined case manually.

@danielroe I think it would be good to revise the default options before v4.
Because currently useCookie, useState and useFetch, each of them has different default behaviour.
