query's Introduction

Query

Build Status Query version

Query adds simple tools to aid the use of Ecto in web settings. With it, we can add paging, scopes, and sorting with ease. At its heart, Query lets us build complex queries from our controller params.

Installation

This package can be installed by adding query to your list of dependencies in mix.exs:

def deps do
  [
    {:query, "~> 0.5"}
  ]
end

query's Issues

Ability to sort by attributes on relations

Awesome library @nsweeting! Thanks for making this.

It would be cool if you could sort by an attribute on an associated object. For example, sort Posts by their Author's name. It may make sense to be able to pass a reference to a function, similar to how it's done with sorting, but the library would pass the sort direction instead of a value.

Expose total_pages in meta

It might be handy to expose total_pages (i.e. something like: round(Float.ceil(total / page_total))) in meta.

This would be useful for rendering a "Last Page" link.
