I think that adding templates is so simple with out having to change you library that really there is not much value to something just increase the complexity of the tool.

You better off adding examples on how to use templates with your library.

I have been using EJS from visionmedia on my implementation

I think you may be right. There seems to be a demand for e-mail templating but it's almost impossible to do it properly - it is absolutely not feasible to include every templating module out there to the Nodemailer package but not including these yields in an incomplete offering as there's always somebody out there who wants to use a template language that happens to be not supported.

I think just some examples on how to do it, would do it. everyone will have their own requirements and at least showing people how they can do it would be enough.
