I don't think you can control the destination Item ID , as it is system
generated .
But for your cross reference you will see the old item ID as part of the
migrated metadata.

Hi xanderjames2000, I'm having same issue as you with less items migrated than there actually are. Have you resolved this?

@EdPerminas, if you have less items migrated than you expect it is usually to do with the Query that selected the work items. The default excludes closed items..

@MrHinsh, I agree, but removing Closed statement from query doesn't fix this:
Orginal: "QueryBit": "AND [TfsMigrationTool.ReflectedWorkItemId] = '' AND [Microsoft.VSTS.Common.ClosedDate] = '' AND [System.WorkItemType] IN...
Changed:
"QueryBit": "AND [TfsMigrationTool.ReflectedWorkItemId] = '' AND [System.WorkItemType] IN...
Maybe I do mistake in changed query?

If you made a mistake in the query it would give you an error.
What you will likely find is that some of your source items have data for TfsMigrationTool.ReflectedWorkItemId and they are thus excluded from the query. You can ultimately make the Query:
"QueryBit": "",
Which will mean that all items are loaded... but I usually like to add the filter for WorkItemType at the least.
