Calculator App

This is a basic calculator web app built with React & Bootstrap.

Features

  • Add, Subtract, Multiply, and Divide
  • Buttons can be clicked or input from your keyboard can be typed directly into the calculator
  • Flexible layout designed for use on all different devices

Installation

Clone or download the project from its Github repository

In the project directory you can do the following:

npm install

Installs all of the dependencies. Run this first before trying to run the application.

npm start

Runs the app in the development mode.
Open http://localhost:3000 to view it in the browser.

npm run build

Builds the app for production to the build folder.
It correctly bundles React in production mode and optimizes the build for the best performance.

See the section about create-react-app deployment for more information.

To Do List

  • Multiple math operators in a row should cause an error ( e.g. currently 5+--+2 = 7)
  • Make the "Enter" key equivalent to the equals operator
  • Add more documentation, and specifically: jsdocs

Future possibilities

  • Add a system for user set variables
  • Add parenthesis functionality to the calculator
  • Add a scrollable history of recent calculations
