@Binero, XML standard is defined in terms of unicode code points, not bytes (see here), so the XML processor has to work with char
s, which are proper code points in Rust. And char
s can only be read with Buffer
since chars consist of multiple bytes.
Ideally I want to use some kind of stream-based decoder, not UTF-8-only one. Something like Reader
/Writer
infrastructure in Java. I thought that maybe rust-encoding
provides something like this, but it needs further evaluation.
