Could you try to close and reopen your project?
If it still doesn't work, please let me know.

I've tried closing and reopening the project, it still does the same thing.

Hi @awkerney,

Do you have at least one key/value pair in either Localizable.strings, InfoPlist.string pr MainStoryboard.strings ?

Cheers,
Hubert

Have somewhat the same problem: It only finds strings from my MainStoryboard.strings, not my Localizable.strings. Does it perhaps only search in the first .strings file found?

from lin.

hsarret avatar hsarret commented on August 31, 2024

It should search in all .strings file

hsarret avatar hsarret commented on August 31, 2024

Might be because you just created Localizable.strings, could you try to quit project, reload it and try again please ?

from lin.

futuretap avatar futuretap commented on August 31, 2024

No, that doesn't fix the problem. The Localizable.strings exists in the project almost forever.

@hsarret
Yes I have a number of key/value pairs in both my en.lproj and my fr.lproj Localizable.strings files.

Ok, so for some reason Lin started showing the key-value pairs from the MainStoryboard.strings files but not my Localizable.strings files... It's a start I guess..

@awkerney and @futuretap , could you please check if your .strings files are using UTF8 encoding ?

from lin.

futuretap avatar futuretap commented on August 31, 2024

No, I have to use UTF-16 encoding because of my automatic build system.

from lin.

hsarret avatar hsarret commented on August 31, 2024

@futuretap, I just asked if your .strings files were using UTF8 ;) not required you to change encoding
That explains why Lin is not working for you.
Like i said on another issue, we'll think about a way to support any encoding

That's probably the problem I'm having too then, I'm pretty sure my localizable.strings files are UTF-16
