Ah yes. Sorry @ericol very much for the bad UX. I've been trying to find where the correct balance is with the modal, since it is undeniably effective for driving signups, but can be a very ugly UI/UX antipattern when implemented badly.
I promise to implement:
- Disable modal if "Subscribe" button in sidebar is clicked. Makes sense that I shouldn't bug people again if they're already expressed interest, I have in
localStorage
value that disables it if it's already been shown once implemented now, so at least there's that. - Probably will skip it altogether for screens below a certain size. That would include phones, tablets, etc. since it doesn't even make sense to show it in those situations. I don't consider making users zoom out their screen a satisfactory solution :)
Sound good?
Cheers,
Nathan

Hm, I published an article last week (also sent through email) about "Don't Get Bitten By Pointer vs Non-Pointer Method Receivers in Golang". That's the most recent one (https://nathanleclaire.com/blog/2014/08/09/dont-get-bitten-by-pointer-vs-non-pointer-method-receivers-in-golang/).
Glad you enjoy! And thanks again for the feedback.
