Possible solution; given the set of alternatives derived from OTP, use PostGIS queries to scan the DB for the next arriving vehicle on each route to reconstruct the alternative travel time.
I would want to verify that the estimate is close to OTP's for the fastest itinerary.

Travel time estimates derived in this manner are so far usually very close to OTP's estimate (within a second or two), but sometimes quite far off (+/-500 seconds). The reason for this is not yet known.
