Printing support with Ksmbd about ksmbd-tools HOT 10 OPEN

For my business I really need to connect the printer to the box.

We have salespeople and project managers in an infrastructure not managed by technicians.
They very often print small documents of a few pages.

Our printer does not have WIFI. It is already next to our freebox in the hallway at the entrance.
For the moment (due to lack of space), everyone sends their files to a PC connected to the printer dedicated solely to receiving their documents by email.

If we could have the printer on networks via the USB of the freebox.

• We would no longer need to go and print in the hallway where it is very cold.
• It would save time x14 employees and that several times a day and send our sensitive documents to the same PC with free access (not secure).
• We would also gain a dedicated machine and therefore space.

We tried to do work, but we are office tenants, the owner forbids it (Louis XVI style buildings)
From the box, pulling a cable would prevent the corridor doors from being closed.
You can't go through the ceiling or the floor...

We looked for solutions, the only one would be that we could find our printer on the freebox network or change supplier.

ksmbd don't support it yet. You can use samba for it. Any issue to use samba ?

since samba and ksmbd-tools use the same port in daemon mode (by default) they are basically conflicting eachother -> they can't be installed (well can), but can not run on the same machine together, right?

Oops, Sorry for missing your question. Yes. ksmbd and samba is using same port, So can't run both ones at the same time. Need to select one of them.

Have the freebox in the center of the house, the office to make it essential. It's a great asset.
