node-exact-online's Introduction

node-exact-online

Node.js wrapper for the Exact Online API

Disclaimer

This module is a work in progress. Not all methods are available yet. Feel free to add them and send in a pull request

Install

npm install exact-online

Usage

Create a client

var exactOnline = require('exact-online');
var client = exactOnline.createClient({
	clientId: 'xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx', // OAuth Client ID
  clientSecret: 'xxxxxxxxxxxx', // OAuth Client Secret
  env: 'production', // Environment (production/development)
  debug: false, // Enable debug logging
  redirectUri: 'https://example.com/oauth/redirect'
});

The client can be used to call methods on the Exact Online API

// Get current user
client.sys.me(function(err, userData) {
  console.log(userData);
});

#Save token-information Normally whenever you need to (re)start your node-instance, token and session information with regards to Exact Online aren't saved. This means you'll have to re-authenticate your end-user against Exact Online. To prevent this, there's a feature to implement your own function to save token-information to (for example) a mongo or mysql-database. After saving, another feature is present to insert the previously saved token-information at runtime.

// reveiving token-information
var token = receive_token_from_database();

var client = exactOnline.createClient({
	clientId: 'xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx', // OAuth Client ID
  clientSecret: 'xxxxxxxxxxxx', // OAuth Client Secret
  env: 'production', // Environment (production/development)
  debug: false, // Enable debug logging
  redirectUri: 'https://example.com/oauth/redirect',
  passToken: function (access_token) {
      write_token_to_database(access_token);
    },
    startToken: token
});
