Did you ever find better instructions? I'm trying to just get this setup today and it keeps telling me it has an unbound PV and I have yet to figure this out. Thanks.

Unbound PVC means you havent created a PV for it. I cant remember if the Google cloud kubernetes auto provisions volumes or not, but try creating volumes with the same sizes as those requested with the claims.

@chris10136 can you give some more constructive feedback on where you were running into issues?
Certainly happy to improve the setup instructions, but I am unsure where to begin.
As for running on GCP, Compute Engine persistent disks do not offer ReadWriteMany support (xref: Persistent Volumes, Access Modes)
- ReadWriteMany: The Volume can be mounted as read-write by many nodes. PersistentVolumes that are backed by Compute Engine persistent disks don't support this access mode.
This is listed as a prerequisite in the README
There is a good overview of options on deploying a solution to provide ReadWriteMany volumes on GCP, however, I have not verified this setup with kube-plex. https://medium.com/@Sushil_Kumar/readwritemany-persistent-volumes-in-google-kubernetes-engine-a0b93e203180
