You probably using stable version of TeleBot (from NPM). Use bot.connect() instead.

How can I get message that returned after sendPhoto or another method?

You can get it from method response, like this:

bot.on('/start', (msg) => {
    bot.sendPhoto(msg.from.id, './image.jpg').then((response) => {
        const photo = response.result.photo;
        const photoId = photo[0].file_id;
        console.log('Photo file_id:', photoId);
    });
});

Then you can send it using this id:

bot.sendPhoto(user_id, file_id);
