No, I didn't.

I only download and install, try more than three times, use the path such
"C:\msysgit" or "D:\msysgit", but all failed.

@hpyovo what do you mean by "It can work"? Do you mean "it works"? Did you want to have Git for Windows instead of developing it (installing the net installer would only make sense if you want to modify Git for Windows) in the first place?

@dscho from the initial description, I suspect he only installed the devkit because the TortoiseGit devs still haven't understood what their users actually need. Or perhaps the msysGit vs Git for Windows distinction.

Yeah,I only want to install msysGit and TortoiseGit for Windows.When I update msysgit from 1.7.10 to 1.8.1.2,I meet this problem. Then I get the source of git and build it, I meet the same problem.

@hpyovo You don't want to install msysGit at all; you want to install Git for Windows. msysGit is the development-environment used to build Git for Windows. The TortoiseGit team have been confused for years, telling people to install the wrong component.
