Thanks for reporting this. We've been testing mainly on CentOS with MPICH.
It's definitely on our TODO list to support Open MPI and Ubuntu, but unfortunately, we're not there yet. If you like, you can check back with us at the end of the summer.

Both ways work. We're pretty informal, right now.

You could keep it open so that others will notice this issue easily.

Try using: ./configure CXXFLAGS='-fno-stack-protector -fpermissive' in my case it helped. Without this option such conversion are not allowed
