It seems that stats is a description of an output element that I tried to implement, and did not really work out nicely at the time. I had the idea of adding uncertainty measures to the produced estimate including the variance-covariance matrix.
I traced back my commit history and I found the one from Jan 4, 2018. If I recall well, the problem was that I did not manage to make it work with all the models and optimization methods simultaneously. It was often returning errors and failures. Even in the code you can see that I was making use of the tryCatch() to avoid some of the problems. At the end I gave up and preferred to keep the package lighter but issue free.
