Installation not complete - Python dependencies problem about convergence HOT 4 CLOSED

I'll spend some time (soonish) on refining the instructions, which are currently for Debian/Ubuntu. Instead of apt-get, try using yum, and let us know what happens.

Thanks for you reply. I try your suggestion but still not successful. I find
the yum in a directory /etc/log.d/scripts/services and the code looks like
Perl code to do some package installation. When run by set PATH correctly,
it just hang!

I am not sure what yum would do and guess and the command mean to install
the modules like python python-twisted-web python-m2crypto etc. But the
find comand can not locate these files, so the question is where can
download them?

The convergence.io idea is very sound and I would happy to install in my
servicer for people need it. I myself need one to start with.

yum is the default package manager on Red Hat Linux. You shouldn't need to find it, it would be in your path if it's a sane install. It will handle downloading the files automatically, so you don't need to download them ahead of time. If you don't use yum, how do you install new software? Whatever package manager interface you use, it should have a way to search for things, so use that to search and install the required software,

What's the output of which yum when you run it in the shell? And what was the error you got when you tried to use yum instead of apt-get as suggested?

Hi,

I guess the installation is too old ( 6 year ago) and the "which yum"
actually said that no yum in a whole lot of common path.

By set the path to where I found Yum and run it. It did not show any error
message.

The uname show that the system is: Linux 2.6.9-11.Elsmp 2005. Just wander
where is it time to do updating?
