Same issue here, connection is killed when using findOne yet find works fine. This is since upgrading to version 1.1.1 of the driver, version 1.0.1 was the last version which findOne worked correctly.

Had the same problem. This has already been fixed here: mongodb/mongo-php-library@ddd5090 but didn't make it into a release yet. If you need, you can apply the change manually in vendor/mongodb/mongodb/src/Operation/FindOne.php.

1.0.0-beta2 of mongo-php-library has been tagged, which should also include this fix. Sorry for the delay on that.
