It appears most of the issues listed above are related to development only, using non-port-80 URLs. According to this bug report on Facebook, Facebook cross-domain solution IE (which relies on Flash Transport instead of postMessage technique) fails to retain port.

In my case, the same code deployed to production (on port 80 of course) works fine. Please share any insight you may have on this issue.

I haven't run into any problems, but I don't spend much time on IE7 or 8. I'm happy to take patches.

OK, most problems went away when I switched from using a virtual internal network in VMware to using actual internet connection back to my server.
