Another approach is to make sure frontend devs work with the GraphQL introspection schema.

Depends how sophisticated your stack is, but if you use Apollo then can generate types(and typescript) out of it and the frontend devs already have all their knowledge autocomplete-able in their IDE, so barely one needs to go GraphiQL and "search" except when you play around with special queries, for which you still have autocomplete there too.
