do not use "bundled driver". Sound Blaster doesn't need any drivers. The only think you need to write in autoexec is SOUNDBLASTER variable.

I've deleted the SB directory completely and removed all lines from config.sys and autoexec.bat expect for the following:
SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 T3
SET MIDI=SYNTH:1 MAP:E

Unfortunately the issue is still occurring.

I tested a bit, and versions 1.3 and 1.4 (downloaded from MyAbandonware) crash for me too. Version 1.0 never crashes at this point (and I tried a few configurations w.r.t. memory managers and enabled TSRs), but it pauses for ~200 ms when the sound effect ends.

(On a possibly unrelated note, 1.0 and 1.3 reliably hang at the "Loading" screen when MiSTerFS is loaded.)

Just to keep track of this issue with a newer mister version (as of this writing):

• version 1.1 works fine
• version 1.3 only works if sound device is set to speaker, setting it to sound blaster crashes it
• many configs tried (different speeds/cache on/off etc.) no luck so far
• to quickly get to the crash, start with "prince improved" and select shift L after starting the game (it will load the next level and crash upon the door closing sequence)
