If I'm understanding correctly, CL.exe is available in the installer, but the installer switches specified in its manifest result in a different set of files being installed. And your goal is to have these installer switches exposed in some way, so that installing this package does result in CL.exe being available after install.

Hi @stephengillie, I believe the installer switches been available covers most user cases, I also read the other issue the bot linked above, and based on that, simple adding the CL.exe would not fix my use case (installing C++/CLI Build tools using winget) as it appears this package currently only installs C# build tools.

An alternative would be multiple packages with more descriptive naming and defaults for each/most common use cases.
I still would suggest that having the CLI tools should be a default in any package for VS Build tools, if an user is looking for an installation of it using winget, it would be a good guess that he wishes to remain on the CLI and install tools that work on it.
