Unpin torch, use a min or range? about torchgeo HOT 4 CLOSED

Those requirements are used for CI and tests. The dependencies are listed in pyproject.toml.

Just to make sure we're on the same page, there are 5 options:

1. No version requirements specified: torch
2. Single version required (what I call pinning): torch==2.1.0
3. Minimum version only: torch>=2
4. Maximum version only: torch<2.3
5. Both minimum and maximum version (what I call range): torch>=2,<2.3

TorchGeo has never used 1, 2, or 4. Starting with #557 (TorchGeo v0.3.0), we added upper bounds (5). However, we reverted that in #1480 (TorchGeo v0.5.0).

What environment are you trying to resolve? Does using TorchGeo 0.5+ help?

Perhaps I misunderstood but aren't all requirements in required.txt pinned?
I am on torchgeo==0.5.1 & torch==2.1.0 but eyeing torchgeo 0.6 which has torch==2.2.0 which is quite new
