in my opinion, there is no way to get msbuild (or dotnet.exe) restore working on a non-windows machine in VSTS without compromising with the safety of the VSTS token. Not even sure if there would be a workaround, except generating a nuget.config dynamically and adding the source and access token there.

In windows, there is no way to get msbuild (or dotnet.exe) restore working with authenticated feeds, but of course there is the workaround of using nuget.exe
