I think this doesn't make sense. Since I want to hide the dock when the mouse pointer exits the dock visible area, I cannot show it when it just touches the screen border. What should I do then? Waiting for the pointer entering and exiting the dock before hiding it, hiding it after a short period of time? What else? But If you have any good ideas I'm willing to reconsider this feature.

In the meantime there is an experimental extended height option (like unity) in the current master 8c53a1f, although it's quite buggy. The dock height is always 100% so also the active area is.

It can be optional (or Unity option if it does the same thing).
The reason why I make this request is a user don't know were he should put mouse cursor to show dock. It makes sense when you have small amount apps in the dock and hight display resolution. And you should put cursor under the center of vertical size, and I think it is uncomfortably.
