What would you rather to have as a param? Full URL or just the name of the resource to get?

I think having access to both would be good

For example to get a list of users from /api/user the response might look like this:

{
  "status": "success",
  "data": {
    "users": [{
      //data ...
    }]
  }
}

However getting one user from /api/user/123, the response might look like this:

{
  "status": "success",
  "data": {
    "user": {
      //data ...
    }
  }
}

Now grant you at a minimum I only need the url to determine this however why not pass the resource name too, it would help with @ccollie's input.
