The project doesn't seem to be public anymore. It was out of my control, unfortunately. I was forced to transfer ownership when I left Twitpic. Really sucks after I put all of that hard work into it.

Sure, thats what I think too. Thats very sad =(

is all the code lost now or can you reanimate and start working again on psd.js?
from psd.js.
I could start over from scratch, but I'm not sure if I have the motivation to do that right now after the countless number of hours I've already poured into psd.js. The code isn't "destroyed," meaning copies of it still exist, but it unfortunately belongs to Twitpic now. I am all for persuading Twitpic to make the code public again, even if it's not under my name. The project was a great resource and it's a shame that silly legal business issues should get in the way of benefiting the greater good.

you are totally right
also the code is MIT licensed and tranferring the ownership and deleting the complete repo then was a bad idea, it is also not possible in theory because of the license, so you can still do whatever you want with it (I think so) and dont have to persuade them.
do you mean https://github.com/zx2c4/psd.js ? you could continue from there.

Would love to see this project back, any updates?
from psd.js.
It's been mirrored and forked (in a way) on Github a few times to keep it alive.

Work has also picked up where psd.js left off in the form of psd.rb. If anyone would like to begin updating and fixing psd.js from one of the forks, you are more than welcome to.
from psd.js.
Thanks! Would be great to have one fork being maintained by a group of active contributors. Also, is it possible to compile psd.rb to JavaScript?
from psd.js.
It's not possible, but PSD files are the same so psd.js can be based directly off of psd.rb.

Never say never ;-)

@meltingice psd.js has been MIT licensed - right? Free to use and change for anything and anyone. As far as project control goes: Naming is usually an issue as you create a confusion with the now-publisher. But If you rename and republish it under "psdParser.js" (or so) then I do not see a reason why there would be any problem?! If you want you can also say something like: "the control over the psd.js - project has been given to twitpic. However: according to the MIT license the open-source development continues: ... here". Am I not getting something? :)
from psd.js.
@martinheidegger is totally right π they can not forbid to make a fork and rename it. It is your code and it is MIT.
Also, I don't see any psd.js project on twitpics profile. Did they delete it?
