Did you rebuild your application or just change the version number in json? If not it's normal behavior because your build on a server and updates.json which points to this build contain different version numbers.

@megahertz Yes I changed version number in json. I noticed that I am not calling updater.quitAndInstall(). Is that causing it?

okay my mistake I got it both version in updates.json and package.json are mapped
