Implementation difficulty is that currently we don't know the viewport to size to when we do the SVG to PNG conversion. So this will require some restructuring.

Not so fast. It seems to me necessary to provide the space budget for any content. Including graphics. In particular, "native rendering" of eg SVG into an allotted space should give crisper graphics.

Thinking some more on this:

1. It's possible to defer graphic conversion until after the space budgets have been established.
2. It needs knowing the proportions of the SVG (or EPS) files to be rendered.

If I can do 2 we might be in business.
