Cannot confirm. XLD correctly converts 24/96 WAVs into 24/96 FLACs.

Oh perhaps it is because I accidentally have 'scan for replaygain' checked, and 
flac's gain scanner doesn't support 96kHz?

The option is for CD ripping, and should not affect normal file conversions.

XLD is not able to change the output samplerate/bitdepth for FLAC files. So it 
should be impossible for you to get such a result with XLD.

OK, I promise I'm not crazy, but I will have to come back with a good test 
case. I'm somehow looking at a directory of 44.1 FLACs that I created tonight 
though.. Sorry for wasting your time.
