Well, I don't think the encryption is needed, like a ssh private key stored in 
~/.ssh. Of course a permission for the plist file should be set correctly (600 
by default).

Storing as a hash makes no sense.

In this context, the hash idea doesn't make sense, I agree as it would require 
use intervention each run. Also, I should have checked the permissions. I agree 
that if it's good enough for SSH private keys, it should be good enough for AWS.

I would close this except I don't see how to.
