We used to have them originally, but removed them. I think the argument was that it was duplicate storage when a MIX()
or MAX()
call could just be used.

Here's the background:
@yhahn: "Just FYI I discussed this portion of the spec with Tom and we thought that we should keep bounds as recommended but minzoom and maxzoom might be superfluous. In particular bounds describes something additional to what can be queried from the database but minzoom and maxzoom are basically just there for convenience. Also we've found a way to query for those much more efficiently in TileStream so it's not as pressing to have them from our side."
