Front page & community page

How should it be included? What should it look like? What can we grab from the server to include?

AskBot dev preview

Have we shown a recent version to the AskBot team? I think the site is pretty close to how it'd look for the final launch, visually. Content may change, but it's pretty stable in appearance now (at least for the front page).

Asking & answering

This bullet point is outside the scope of this issue. (It would be nice to have some live content to see how it works on the site, however.)

I'm wondering if we should release this internally for a short period ahead of time, and recommend to the cf-tech mailing list to move their questions and answers here. This will allow us to "prime the pump" and also allow some of the initial contributors to learn the application.

So, it's linked from the footer... but I still cannot style the site.

I haven't gotten the docs or access to do so yet — this is getting pretty critical at this point in time.

@garrett: I put you & John Mark in contact with Evgeny, he's committed to solving the Google sign-in issue today. Have you asked him for access, or for information on theming? We have paid for some of his time to theme the site - do you have instructions for him which he can follow himself?

How feasible is it to launch without the Q&A, and add it later? I'm asking only because it's very late in the day to be asking for access or giving instructions to him.

Dave.

Evgeny has been rebasing my WIP CSS to a proper theme and is putting it on bitbucket. I'm not sure if this is the right approach, however, as this may increase the maintenance burden on both ends now.

Is this issue no longer a blocker? It seems we have resolved the major issues at this point.

I don't know of a way to really "integrate" the sites, except for some cross-linking and look and feel. I'm not sure if there's a way to actually pull in the top questions or anything... but that should probably be done manually, and cleaned up for pages on the website, rather than the most popular or newest questions.

So: Still a blocker, but a fixed blocker.
