Workaround script using expect:
#!/usr/bin/env expect
set timeout -1
spawn lutris lutris:rungame/epic-games-store
expect "Stopping Epic Games Store (wine)" { close }

Got the same issue when trying to start a game from the terminal. The lutris runtime does not exit after the game closes. Lutris debug output : lutris_debug.txt
