Kerbals whose (first) name is a substring of another Kerbal disappear about lunamultiplayer HOT 2 OPEN

Oh, something I forgot that now seems important/relevant:

The biggest reason we (my friend and I playing co-op) believe that the above described cause is the actual cause is that we had done literally nothing with Bill Kerman prior to this issue, but it caused him to vanish.

Further edit to clarify:

Jeb and Valentina were fine throughout this process; only Bill and Bob were harmed.

So looking into it further, it seems Bill was already gone by the time that save file was restored from. If my theory is correct, we had already seen a tourist mission (or passed up a prospective kerbonaut?) with a name like "Billy-something Kerman".

Also, as before on loading into the server after a fresh restore I can fly my earth orbital science lab but after leaving the server and re-joining I get this in the client's console log:

Warning: [Protocrewmember]: Instance of crewmember ln part Large.Crewed.Lab on Orbital Science Lab does not exist in the roster

Note that as far as I can tell the "crewmember in part" substring of the above has two spaces between "crewmember" and "in" (implying to me that the crewmember name is somehow empty as well) and the "in" actually looks like "ln" (lowercase L as the first char) but that part is likely KSP rendering the text poorly. I include the latter only for posterity; I hope it's irrelevant.

Still looking into what might cause this.
