@xzackli Thanks a lot and sorry for taking so long in getting to this. I'm not completely sure how to address this one. One could have a first layer that checks for UNSEEN pixels and sets them to zero, but this may not be completely desirable in some scenarios, so I wonder if the best way to sort this out is to warn users of this rather than actually modify the map. Thoughts?

Thinking about this again, I think that's the best option -- maybe just put down a sphinx warning block on the pure B example? i.e.

.. warning::

   If you have HEALPix UNSEEN values in your map, set those pixels to zero in both the mask and map in order to use B-mode purification.
