Undercut is produced by a cutting rack. That's how it is computed for the involute gears:

But an alternative fillet is on the todo list for a long time. Thanks for the information. I will try to incorporate it once I have time to work on this.

You are right; I have confused the undercut option with a generalized option for foot rounding (by either two quarter circles or half a circle). The current option creates a "true" undercut which explaines strange results when applying it to gears with a higher number of teeth. A more generalized foot rounding function would be greatly appreciated.
