A couple of people have asked for this in the past, and the RollingFileStream should make it reasonably easy to do. Anybody not in favour of following the log4j spec? I'll probably get around to in the next week or two, but if someone else wants to take this on and submit a pull request, that'd be great. Just let me know, so we don't duplicate effort.

You're assuming I have a plan. I haven't done any work on this yet, so I'm happy for anyone else to do it.

Finally got around to doing this. See https://github.com/nomiddlename/log4js-node/wiki/Date%20rolling%20file%20appender for details. Released to npm in version 0.5.3
