I had a very similar problem with Linux Mint 15 Cinnamon 64-bit that turned up when I tried to use nemo-rabbitvcs. The fix was to create a symlink similar to the original poster.
$ nemo
(nemo:13865): Nemo-Python-WARNING **: g_module_open libpython failed: /usr/lib/libpython2.7.so.1.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
ImportError: could not import gobject (error was: '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libpyglib-gi-2.0-python2.7.so.0: undefined symbol: _Py_ZeroStruct')
(nemo:13865): Nemo-Python-WARNING **: pygobject initialization failed
(nemo:13865): Nemo-Python-WARNING **: nemo_python_init_python failed
Here was my fix:
$ ln -s /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libpython2.7.so.1.0 /usr/lib/libpython2.7.so.1.0
from nemo-extensions.

I also had the same problem with nemo-compare in Linux Mint 15 Cinnamon 64-bit.
$ nemo --quit
