Ok. But I'm suggested that not because 'colors look ugly', it's just easier to visually determine what color you're playing and more intuitive. А green dot can show opponent online or not.

Across the site, a green user icon means the user has at least one page of the site open. The green dot means he is currently playing this game. I believe both are useful.
I agree your proposal makes it easier to determine who plays what color, tho. As a workaround I indicate it on the left side of the board using two small colored kings.
