Hi pacheco,
Thanks for the report. I can't seem to reproduce this issue with gnu global 6.2.8.

I'll check the new global version see if it solves the problem.
The problem for me happens when you do the following:
- Have your source code somewhere, say '~pacheco/projects/mycode'
- Create a symlink for this 'projects' dir somewhere, say ~pacheco/linkproj
- cd ~pacheco/linkproj/mycode # go to the symlink path
- 'gtags'
- global -f ~/pacheco/linkproj/mycode/somefile.c # pass global the symlink path
Global thinks that somefile.c is not on the source tree. If on the other hand I do:
- global -f ~/pacheco/projects/mycode/somefile.c # pass global the hard path
It works as expected! Using file-truename would do this.
I'm using ubuntu's 13.04 version of global (5.7.1). I'm downloading the newest version and will report back here.

Tested with newest global version and the problem still happens.

If you use the hard path (truename) or a relative path, it works.
Giving the full symlink path (using expand-file-name while inside the symlink dir, for example) the problem happens

hi pacheco,
Thanks a lot for the report and detailed experiment. It seems harmless for ggtags to resolve the symlinks for 'global', so I have made change.
