My hunch is that any audio coming in transcoded to AAC. I would love to implement 192kHz streaming, but I'm bound by whatever the Jellyfin API supports. Just out of curiosity, when you stream audio using the web client, does the audio register correctly on your DAC?

Jellyfin on safari (on Mac) stream at 44.1 kHz (it is transcoding since the original flac is 192 kHz). But I suspect it’s more a limitation of safari itself. In fact the Jellyfin official app on iPad streams correctly the same file at 192 kHz.

I have an Android DAC and I tried the Gelli client, there’s an option to direct play some codec so they are not transcoded. But for me it does not work and I don’t know why, maybe because the Android version is quite old (7.0). In any case it is supposed to work directly streaming the file without transcoding.
