This is a very good question; such a good question, I just had to push a new version.
TinyXML-2 always does everything in UTF-8, including saving. Some issues you might encounter:
- Well formed XML should have a declaration. With the 1.0.1 version, you can simply say doc.NewDeclaration() to get the obvious default declaration.
- Some parsers might, still, maybe? pay attention to the UTF-8 BOMs. 3 non-printing characters that start the text file indicating this is UTF-8. You can set these with doc.SetBOM( true )
An example of both is in "Default Declaration & BOM" in xmltest.cpp
from tinyxml2.
