possibly the transition.transtionID is actually not constant in the closure (if the transition records gets reused for later transitions). just a guess, though

This problem still exists. Have a look at the 3d example. Put the example in a 3d layout. Use the arrows to slide the images to the right. When you click before the previous transition is done, the previous frames stay visible. It doesn't show in normal layout because the frames are places outside the layer.
