I used barnard
a while back on raspberry pi and wrote a step-by-step instruction. You can refer to that doc, but keep in mind that I was on Raspbian, not Ubuntu. Basically, you need to configure GO, install openAL
, and install opus
before installing barnard
.

fantastic, thank you! I didn't have openAL
and opus
installed. Installing those packages did the job:
sudo apt-get install libopenal-dev libopus-dev
