I would like to train a tracker based on my training data, so would you

Hello Kyle.

Want to join this issue discussion.
I know, that the owner of face tracker itself is Jason Saragih, but he moved maintain of this project to you, as mentioned on his site: http://jsaragih.org/
Two years ago, he were ready to share tracker only with universities or research institutions, but year ago he agreed to share this tool with community. I suppose that was your merit too.
Can you contact him with request to share training part of framework ? Maybe it's time he ready to share this part too ?
Maybe the issue is in lack of time to prepare this part for sharing with community. In this case I can propose my help on preparing of tutorials, test samples etc. I made research in the university related to the facial expressions recognition, and it were based on Jason's tracker. I'm aware of how it works and what math is behind it, but some technical parts are not clear from his papers, and that is the reason I didn't reconstruct training tool for his tracker by myself.

Just notify us, what is currently the knot in sharing of training part of library ?
Thanks in advance.

i just heard back from jason -- i'm very sorry, but the FaceTracker trainer was written while jason was at carnegie mellon and it belongs to them. he mentioned that he could theoretically rewrite it to create new code that he has a license to again, but isn't interested in rewriting old software right now.

i suspect if someone had a really cool application and a good budget that would give him the motivation to rewrite it, but that's just a hunch :)
